Viewing this site at its best

This site adheres to the web standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of all browsers, particularly older versions. So, although the site should be perfectly legible in all browsers, you're likely to get the best experience from the latest version of one of the browsers below:

Opera icon

Opera (version 8) is currently the most standards-compliant browser available for Windows (it's not as good on other operating systems). It also has many cunning features, not offered by its rivals, making it probably the most flexible browser you can currently use. This site will display well in versions from 6.0 onwards, although version 6 fails to render some of it perfectly (Opera 5 isn't reliable at all). Opera's weak point is that it often doesn't cope well with non-standard JavaScript.

Mozilla icon

Mozilla produces a range of open-source browsers for Windows, Mac and Linux. All their browsers have very good standards-compliance and are fast and efficient. This site should display near-enough perfectly in any recent Mozilla browser. Firefox in particular is an excellent browser that is catching up fast on Opera in terms of features.

Netscape logo

After a rocky period around Navigator 4, Netscape now produces an excellent browser with great standards-compliance, on all platforms. This site should display well in Netscape versions 6 and later.

Apple logo

The Safari browser is an excellent, fast, open-source browser, though only available for Mac OSX. It has good standards compliance and will display this site well.

Internet Explorer logo

Internet Explorer 5 for Macintosh performs fairly well in the standards-compliance stakes, but IE5 & IE6 for Windows both have major flaws. This site will display well in IE6 and acceptably in IE5, but, to be honest, Internet Explorer is showing its age and heading fast towards obsolescence. The only reason it is so popular is because it is so popular and the use by Microsoft of proprietary extensions that allegedly serve to inhibit the adoption of superior software. You may wish to think that; I couldn't possibly comment. Use Opera or FireFox.
